The Scientific Wander is a private walking tour around Edinburgh’s city centre. It is a gentle walk, exploring the city’s stories of science, medicine and discovery. The three hour tour starts at the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade at a time that suits you and ends at the Grassmarket.
The route is approximately 2 miles (3 km) at a relaxed pace, with one scheduled stop in a pub or a café for a wee rest, some refreshments, and informal conversations with your local scientist guide. The walk includes cobbles and slopes, typical of Edinburgh’s Old Town, so comfortable footwear is recommended!
The Scientific Wander usually runs on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and other days can often be arranged on request. To enquire about dates and times, please fill in the form below or send an email to theteam@scientific-wanders.com, and I will confirm your booking personally.
The tour is currently offered at a reduced cost of £150 per group of up to 6 people (£25 per person) until the Edinburgh Festival begins in August. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with payment instructions. We accept all major cards and paypal. You can cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours before the tour.
